
Interview with Gabriel Peluffo: “The contemporary photographic gaze increasingly requires more thought”
Gabriel Peluffo Linari, Director of the Juan Manuel Blanes Municipal Museum of Fine Arts in Montevideo.
Gabriel Peluffo Linari (1946) has a degree in Architecture from the University of the Republic (UDELAR) and is a researcher in Uruguayan and Latin American Art History.
He received a grant from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation in 1995 and participated in conference groups on New Tropes for Latin American Art History (UNAM, Mexico) with an award from the Rockefeller Foundation (1994 - 2003).

Encuentro between Photography Critics, Researchers and Curators in Montevideo

Workshop on book publishing in Oaxaca (Mexico)

PHotoEspaña and the Centro de las Artes de San Agustín - CaSa in Oaxaca (Mexico) are organizing a Workshop for photographers on book publishing, to take place on December 2 – 4, 2010.
The program offers photographers the chance to present their book manuscripts to photography editors.
Throughout the three days, participants will work in small groups to present their publishing projects to professionals who will guide them on editing, design and the overall conceptual approach to their proposals.

Sebastián Friedman writes in the PHotoEspaña blog

His photography has been displayed in several solo and group exhibitions in Argentina, Indonesia, Spain, USA, Germany, Brazil and Belgium, in venues such as the National Library in Argentina, the Center for Photography in Woodstock, USA, the Instituto Iberoamericano in Berlin or the Instituto Cervantes in Belgium.
He has been rewarded repeatedly in contests, scholarships and artist’s residences.
"Family and Maid", 2003, is a series that reflects about the role of housemaids.
